Make a trip of it!
Santa Ynez is not only the charming, beautiful place where we will be sharing our vows, but it also lies half way in between where we both grew up - San Diego and Modesto. We hope this makes it easy for many of you to take a nice road trip and explore an area for the first time!
For those traveling by plane: We highly recommend flying into an airport a few hours away and taking a road trip up or down the California Coast, if you have the time. However, there is an airport just 40 minutes from our venue in Santa Barbara if you prefer to fly right in!
Here are a few options:
-
Santa Barbara | SBA
Just 40 minutes from our venue, the Santa Barbara airport is not huge, but is a great place to fly in for a quick and easy transport to Santa Ynez!
-
San Francisco | SFO
San Francisco is a huge International airport in the Bay Area. This airport is about 4 hours North of our venue, but would be an amazing place to start a road trip down the Coast. We would recommend stopping in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur (along the 1), and Santa Barbara before cutting East to Santa Ynez!
-
Los Angeles | LAX
LAX is also a great airport to consider with many flight options. The airport is only about 2 hours away from our venue (without traffic), but there are some really cool areas to check out along the route, including Santa Monica, Malibu, and Santa Barbara.
Here’s where you should stay!
We highly recommend staying at a hotel or in a vacation rental (through Airbnb or VRBO) in Santa Ynez or Los Olivos, both of which are areas within a 5-10 minute drive of our wedding venue. However, there are several other beautiful towns nearby:
Solvang: 10 minutes from venue
Buellton: 15 minutes from venue
Santa Barbara: 40 minutes from venue
We are linking some options below to help inspire you, but we did not block any rooms for guests, so feel free to stay wherever you’d like!
